Vestige Group - Adding VIN Numbers to your account.

Providing SpeedGauge with Vehicle Nickname, Vehicle Type and VIN

Your SpeedGauge account has been created, and we do have a vehicle listing. However, we need a readable Vehicle Nickname and VIN number so your insurance program can work with SpeedGauge’s analytics. Below is a sample of how your vehicle listing appears. The ‘Vehicle Nickname’ (Asset Name) is unreadable, and the VIN Number is missing.

How to supply SpeedGauge with Vehicle Nickname, Vehicle Type and VIN

You’ll need to cross reference the alpha-numeric value as if appears in the URL with the value in the supplied spreadsheet. Then add the ‘Asset Name’ in the ‘Vehicle Nickname’ column, update the ‘Vehicle Type’ and also add the VIN number. The default value of Vehicle Type is classified as a ‘car’. If this vehicle is a ‘Truck’ please update the spreadsheet. See sample below.

  1. From within your Vestige user interface:
    • Go to ‘Assets & Devices’ and click on ‘All Devices’
    • Click on an Asset
    • Take note of the Reported Vehicle ID in the URL
    • Compare/Find this the Reported Vehicle ID in the spreadsheet
    • Update the ‘Vehicle Nickname’ with the ‘Asset Name’ as it appears in Vestige (W-11-MC in the sample above).
    • Update the ‘Vehicle Type’ if necessary.
    • Add the VIN Number.
  2. Return the completed spreadsheet to SpeedGauge.

SpeedGauge will then update these values in your SpeedGauge account vehicle listing.
